A jury convicted 44-year-old Shomari Kinard on Thursday, Oct. 10, Camden County Prosecutor Grace MacAulay said in a news release.
Investigators said Kinard shot 25-year-old Nuquan Reddick seven times in the back on Thursday, May 10, 2018. The shooting happened in front of Greattown Grocery and Deli at the corner of Louis and Morton streets in Camden at around 8:13 p.m.
Reddick died from his injuries exactly two months later on Tuesday, July 10, 2018. Detectives identified Kinard as the shooter through surveillance video, witness statements, and cell phone data.
After a five-week trial, Kinard was found guilty of first-degree murder, second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon.
Kinard was scheduled for sentencing on Tuesday, Dec. 10.
